Born and raised in Northern California, Avery barely got through a tumultuous childhood and hell-raising adolescence before leaving California on a sojourn that would take him across almost half the country in eleven years. He would spent most of these eleven years homeless, going from shelter to shelter and earning money by fighting. He also helped women and children who were in violent situations. The journey would take him through Middle America and beyond, eventually coming to a violent climax in Michigan. In over his head, Avery was very nearly killed in North Side Saginaw and decided to turn his life around.
With God's assistance, he transitioned from transient to top-level salesman for Centurylink in Jefferson City, Missouri, although he never lost the knack for getting in trouble or stirring things up (and he has no desire too). Reconciling the mistakes of his past, he eventually reconnected with his two children and returned to the west coast, this time, in Seattle.
Avery now earns a living as an author, blogger, freelance writer, and occasional security officer. Closer to forty than thirty, he has made peace with his family and hopes to make amends with his children. He is a firm believer in God but not organized religion. He enjoys video games, comic books, science fiction, drama, animation, martial arts, and cooking. He also enjoys NFL football and is a huge fan of the Baltimore Ravens.
He is the author of Universal Warrior: Before Red Morning and the upcoming Atherean Defenders.
